WAIPU ITM Store Customer Service Sick of the city or working in an industrial estate ? How do you fancy working at an ITM that is less than a 10 minute drive from probably two of the best beaches in Northland, the great surf beach at Waipu Cove and the superb fishing, dog walking, horse riding and open fire bbq beach at Uretiti. If that is not enough, you can walk from the store to the iconic McLeod's Pizza barn and brewery or if you fancy a Thai, Indian, traditional fish and chips, a roast or just a piece of cake and a coffee they are all less than 3 mins walk from Waipu ITM.
If your commute to work is more than 10 to 15 minutes you are living in the wrong place.
We are looking for a motivated, friendly person to join our small team of 8 of which 3 are part time. You will be the first point of contact for our customers both retail (55%) and trade(45%) who come into the store or call us on the phone. You will be involved in all aspects of the business and must be able to help with some heavy lifting if required.
Every day will be different but your main duties will be: - ensuring a high level of customer service and able to process a sale in a timely and accurate manner
- understanding our large range of products and their different purposes
- preparing customer orders for delivery and occasionally helping load the customer's car or the delivery truck if needed
- unpacking stock deliveries from couriers and then checking packing slips against purchase orders before adding the stock to the store
- ordering new stock for the store to ensure our shelves are always full
- tinting paint and giving advice on the best type of paint to use
Ideally you will have: - some customer service or retail experience in another ITM or in another building supplier
- used Rees or Qontro point of sale systems
- good physical fitness as you will be in your feet all day and there is occasional heavy lifting
- a sunny and enthusiastic personality with a good work ethic and a willingness to be part of small but very very special team
- the ability to multitask and work under pressure
- excellent communication skills in person, over the phone and in writing
Don't worry if you haven't worked for an ITM or don't know your way around Rees or Qontro being interested in supporting our local community of independent builders, painters, farmers and keen DIY'ers with a smile on your face and a willingness to learn may be all you need to succeed in our store.
Applicants for this position should have NZ Residency or a valid NZ Work Visa.
