Remarks: Company Pharmaceuticals is looking for a Senior Director of New Product Planning to join our New Product Planning Organization in Marlborough, MA.

Reporting to the Executive Director, New Products Planning, this individual will be responsible for evaluating and prioritizing growth opportunities for Company Pharmaceuticals Inc. Success is dependent on strong cross-functional relationships and collaboration, and providing the commercial voice to all future growth opportunities. Additional responsibilities include:

- She/he will serve as the commercial program lead for designated internal Company pipeline programs, through Phase 2. Primary focus on commercialization in United States, Canada, and Europe. Secondary focus in collaboration with DSP for Japan and China.
- She/he will support business development activities by leading the commercial due diligence process for external in-line, pipeline and other business opportunities.
- Individual will also serve as commercial program lead for lifecycle management (LCM) opportunities for Company in-line brands that do not fall within the current NDA through Phase 2.
- Influence and inform the annual portfolio prioritization process by providing an objective commercial perspective on Company and Global R&D programs, including forecast development for emerging products and programs and portfolio-wide optimization strategies.
- Rigorously analyzes and understands market dynamics, unmet needs, health economics and reimbursement dynamics to develop commercial perspective to optimally shape target product profiles, target product claims, and emerging product development plans.
- Develops commercialization plans including launch preparation activities leveraging the Launch Excellence framework.
- In conjunction with the clinical & scientific leadership, collaborates on disease area and therapy area strategies.
- Contributes to the continual improvement of the NPP processes, resources and capabilities.

Essential Functions

- New Products Planning: Target Product Profile (TPP), clinical development fluency.
- Strategic Marketing: Positioning, segmentation, value proposition development, health economicsand outcomes research.
- Strong analytics, modeling skills.
- Superior communication written and verbal.
- Team Player; ability to thrive in a “matrix” type work environment with extensive cross-functional peer interactions as well as with Senior Management.

Minimum Education, Experience, Knowledge and Skills Required

- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field (marketing, business, biology, science).
- Master’s or Doctorate (PhD, MBA, MD, MPH, etc.).
- Minimum of 10 years of pharmaceutical/medical industry experience with 3-5 years marketing, new product planning or experience with commercial assessments.
- Minimum of 12 years work experience.
- Experience in pharmaceutical New Products Planning, Brand marketing or consulting preferred.
- Experience in the CNS therapy area preferred.
- Comprehensive understanding of pharmaceutical product development.
- Demonstrated experience in distilling market dynamics, product options into recommendations.
- Comprehensive understanding of legal and regulatory issues impacting product marketing.
- Demonstrated comprehensive understanding of the dynamics driving the health care environment.
- Superior strategic and market analysis.
- Strong communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills. Proven track record of successfully dealing with ambiguity and prioritizing activities and options.
- Leadership skills, including:
- Ability to solve problems that include many decision-makers.
- Ability to deal with ambiguity and simultaneously carry several options for solutions forward.
- Ability to interact widely and effectively (both horizontally and vertically) within the company (ie., on an inter-departmental and inter-disciplinary basis).
- Ability to develop solutions to complex problems requiring the use of ingenuity and creativity; to formulate approaches and strategies, which may fall outside of historical norms.
