Event Management (Marketing & Communications)We are seeking a self-employed contractor to help establish and grow a newly formed event company as Sponsorship and Funding Manager for 5-10 hours per week (flexible hours, some weeks may require more hours, some less). It sets itself apart in the world of combat sports, particularly with its online voting system which allows fans to actively participate by voting for their favourite fighters (who win prize money), creating a truly engaging and interactive experience. This combination of high-calibre competition and fan interaction is what makes BFC a revolutionary force in the boxing industry.Job Summary:The Sponsorship and Funding Manager will be a self-employed contractor who will play a key role in developing, securing, and managing sponsorships and funding opportunities for Barbwire Fight Club. This individual will work closely with the marketing team and CEO to identify potential sponsors, cultivate relationships, and ensure effective management of existing partnerships. Ideally the candidate will have experience with applications for grants and funding initiatives, ensuring that our financial objectives are met while enhancing our brand visibility.Key Responsibilities:Sponsorship Development & Management:Identify, approach, and secure sponsorships from brands, organisations, and individuals.Build and maintain strong relationships with existing sponsors to ensure satisfaction and long-term partnership growth.Create tailored sponsorship proposals, presentations, and packages that align with potential sponsors' objectives.Negotiate contract terms, including sponsorship fees, deliverables, and activation strategies.Track and report on sponsorship performance and deliverables, ensuring both Barbwire Fight Club and sponsors meet agreed-upon goals.Funding and Grants Initiatives:Identify suitable grant and government funding opportunities, crafting compelling proposals and ensuring compliance with application requirements.Responsible for overseeing the company's entire lifecycle of grants and funding.Event Activation & Brand Integration:Collaborate with the marketing and events teams to ensure sponsor visibility and integration at live events.Coordinate sponsor branding at events (e.g., sponsor banners, promotional material, merchandise).Ensure that sponsors receive maximum exposure through social media, event coverage, and other promotional channels.Reporting & Administration:Provide regular updates on sponsorship and fundraising activities to the CEO and Marketing and Event Manager.Maintain detailed records of sponsorship agreements, payments, and communications.Ensure all financial commitments are fulfilled and within budget.Qualifications:Education:Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field.Experience:At least 2-3 years of experience in sponsorship management, funding applications, or related roles.Experience in sports marketing, entertainment, or event coordination is highly desirable but not necessary.Skills and Competencies:Strong communication and negotiation skills, both written and verbal.Excellent organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.Knowledge of sponsorship sales, marketing strategies, and partnership management.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and with Google Drive.Personal Attributes:Enthusiastic, proactive, and highly motivated with a passion for combat sports and event management.Strong networking abilities and a keen interest in building relationships with key industry players.High attention to detail and the ability to maintain a professional demeanor under pressure.Why Join Barbwire Fight Club?Dynamic and Thrilling Environment: Be part of a fast-paced, high-energy industry that celebrates athleticism and excitement.Growth Opportunities: Take the lead in building strategic partnerships that will shape the future of the company and expand its reach.Inclusive Culture: Work alongside passionate, driven individuals who are committed to creating exceptional events and experiences.If you're passionate about sponsorships, funding strategies, and combat sports, we'd love to hear from you.
