Speech Language Therapy, Burwood Hospital at Te Whatu Ora - Health New Zealand Waitaha Canterbury, Christchurch Fixed term SLT hours starting January 2025 until the end of the year covering two parental leave positions. There is also involvement in an onsite Videofluoroscopy service.We are looking for a NZ Registered Speech Language Therapist to join our team for the next 10 months!Ko wai koe About YouIn this role, you will be responsible for:Providing comprehensive assessments, evaluations and treatments in accordance with policies, procedures and standards of practice for Speech Language Therapy.Delegating suitable tasks to a Kaiawhina allied health assistant within Speech Language Therapy.Educating and providing resources to patients and their families/whanau, your clinical team and colleagues in the interdisciplinary team, including the regular Kowhai Programme training of volunteers at the Hospital.Contributing to quality service provision within the allocated wards and the wider Burwood site, as well as the Speech Language Therapy service across Canterbury.Your skills will include:Ability to complete thorough assessments and be able to flexibly integrate interventions using problem solving, robust communication whilst being led by your client's goals.Ability to use objective assessment tools particularly Videofluoroscopy.Ability to work within an interdisciplinary team within Older Persons Health and Rehabilitation.Any experience in using FEES, BISSKiT and EMST would be valued.Registered with NZSTA.The successful applicants will have excellent interpersonal skills, and be able to work effectively in an interdisciplinary team, supported by a wider Speech Language Therapy team on site.- Ko nga tangata, te matua mahi-Putting people at the heart of all we do -Health New Zealand Te Whatu Ora, leads the day-to-day running of our health system across New Zealand, with functions delivered at local, district, regional and national levels.
