Specialty Clinical Nurse, Specialist Primary Mental Health & Addictions Service Our Organisation Te Pae Hauora o Ruahine o Tararua MidCentral (MidCentral) is part of Te Whatu Ora, Health New Zealand and provides healthcare services to over 180,000 people across the Manawatu, Horowhenua and Tararua regions. With a large hospital campus in Palmerston North, it also provides key health care and support services to neighbouring communities. The Opportunity Uru Rauhi, Mental Health and Addiction Services at Te Whatu Ora MidCentral have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and enthusiastic Registered Health Professional to join our Specialist Primary Mental Health and Addictions Service. Mental Health and Addiction services are moving towards a wellness and recovery-focused approach that encourages interconnectedness socially, spiritually, physically and environmentally and encompasses the aspirations to achieve 'WAIORA' flourishing individuals, whanau, and communities. We are looking for a Registered Nurse who is: Excited by change Flexible and committed to a team approach to working Creative and curious and has a 'do what it takes' attitude Open to opportunities to learn new skills as the service develops About you The successful candidate will: Be a Registered Nurse who role models diverse leadership and has strengths in influencing and relationship building in a way that encourages strength, diversity and kotahitanga (unity) Be an experienced mental health and addiction practitioner who can demonstrate an understanding of delivering a person and whanau first service delivery model with equity at the forefront Have a specific dedicated focus on liaison and consultation with primary practice teams and community agencies to access care early Enhance Maori, community partners and network relationships along with excellent clinical leadership knowledge and attributes to facilitate the development of whanau ora Have excellent communication skills, including the ability to develop, maintain and enhance their relationships with stakeholders Have experience in or willing to develop skills in developing and facilitating brief intervention groups Have experience in or willing to develop skills to lead/co-lead strategic portfolio streams as required Have experience or willing to develop skills in clinical supervision and/or coaching to support the development of clinical team skills and emerging leaders and encourage creativity of others The successful candidate will be offered the ability to contribute to the vision of providing Te Matapuna o te Ora – connected care for Mental Health and Addiction Services for whanau to ensure flourishing resilient hapori/communities and access to talking therapies training. The Registered Health Professional will report to the Specialist Primary Service Manager.
