Herein Waitaha, Canterbury we deliver health services to the almost 700,000 peoplethat live in the Canterbury region. The Team TheDepartment of Anaesthesia is a large department which provides acute andplanned anaesthesia services in Christchurch across two main campuses, ChristchurchPublic and Burwood Hospital. Surgical services are provided for all themain surgical specialities including Cardiothoracic, Vascular, Neurosurgery,Trauma, Paediatric/Neonatal surgery and Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Tertiary services provided for patients from outside Canterbury includeAcute Spine, Oncological surgery and endovascular clot retrieval. Thedepartment is accredited for training by ANZCA and has a large number oftrainees. The Role Weare seeking to fill general Specialist Anaesthetist positions based atChristchurch Hospital. We currently are seeking both full-time permanent andfixed term positions (6 to 10 months with negotiable part- or full-timeoptions). The Department will endeavour to accommodate specific clinical andnon-clinical interests. Please get in touch to discuss. Thisrole involves providing high quality anaesthesia care and professional clinicalleadership to ensure the best possible health outcomes whilst workingcollaboratively with our multidisciplinary perioperative teams. Yourduties will also include participation in an on-call out-of-hours roster(potentially including obstetrics) and supervision of trainees.
