Our client has an exceptional location offering stunning views of Lake Wanaka. They are an all-day eatery open 7 days a week, offering high-quality food and service.
The role: They are seeking a talented Sous Chef to lead the kitchen team, be part of the tight crew, and contribute to operational, system, and commercial efficiencies.
The venue is committed to continuous improvement, quality food, and genuine down-to-earth customer service - think good old Southern roots/kiwiana hospitality.
The menu is centered around using local and seasonal produce which complements their local craft beers. The kitchen team is made up of around 10-12 people, with peak periods during brunch and lunch trade. The evening menu focuses on the casual dining scene and works with the craft beer following.
The successful candidate will:
Be an experienced Sous Chef in the premium gastro pub / casual dining sector
Work efficiently, calmly under pressure, and in an organized manner
Be accommodating and flexible to the customer's requirements
Give and receive courteous and knowledgeable direction
Have high, positive energy and enjoy leading and motivating a team, contributing to and setting the culture
Ability to multitask and communicate well
Professional and career-oriented work ethic
There will be a minimum of 30 hours per week, with expected hours being approximately 40-45, which will vary based on peak/shoulder periods.
