Kahungunu Health Services - Choices is a Maori Health organisation providing a range of health and community services for whanau living in Hawkes Bay. We are looking for a dynamic, energised Smokefree Coordinator to deliver a smoke free service specifically designed for hapu mama and their whanau. You will be working within the 'Whanau Ora' team assisting Doctors, Nurses, Midwives and local Marae provide smoke free services. You'll help create an environment where whanau can feel safe and supported. A strong cultural competency is vital in this role. This is a fixed term position until 30th June 2025 working 30 hours a week. Key Responsibilities: Promote Smokefree Services Identify and introduce hapu mama that smoke and their whanau to smokefree programmes Facilitate Smokefree workshops and sessions Maintain Smokefree resources Maintain accurate and confidential records, update databases and maintenance of reports Provide Smokefree training and updates to staff Support mama, pepi and whanau with other wellbeing initiatives Represent Kahungunu Health Services at Smokefree Hui The skills and experience required for this role: Certified smoking cessation expert Innovative thinker, energetic, creative and resourceful Some knowledge of local and national smokefree strategies Experience facilitator, able to prepare and deliver smokefree education Positive attitude with problem solving focus Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently as needed Demonstrated ethical practice and the maintenance of professional boundaries Comfortable working in the community, and flexible to changing needs and hours Always show a high degree of consistency in behaviour, and act as a role model Good level of computer literacy and report writing skills A full NZ driver's license Candidates applying for this role will be required to undergo Police Vetting as a condition of employment.
