We are hiring a SIPs Designer to join our award-winning SIPs construction company based in the New Forest, and help us drive forward sustainable homes across the South Coast.

Every SIP that we design is made in-house at our New Forest workshop in Dorset. We're experienced problem-solvers, so we relish the challenge of installing SIPs structures in unusual, tricky, or remote site locations. Job purpose
To take ownership of assigned projects from the point of order to completion on site.
Produce detailed construction information suitable for workshop and site teams to deliver built product without compromise to programme, quality, health & safety and cost.
Create drawings and information to assist Projects Manager team procuring structural engineering, metal web joists, steelwork, glulam beams, specialist fixings and fittings.
A sharp eye for structural integrity in building designs and the ability to conceptualize alternative designs to achieve the desired structural and design aspirations in a project.
Liaising with clients, their architects and contractors and all other relevant parties to ensure the project is completed successfully, on time and within budget.
Excel in the use of design software used within the company, in particular Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD.
Be comfortable using a range of online-based systems to support our other processes and systems, including Microsoft Office.
Knowledge of Autodesk Advance Steel could also be beneficial although not essential.
A solid general understanding of UK building practices and build methods from foundations through to roof finishes and how they will relate to our SIP timber frame structures.
The SIPs Designer reports to the Design Manager.
You will receive personal development and performance management through an appraisal system. You will be given an extensive induction across all areas of the business and build SIPs experience (if applicable) by joining our workshop crews across this period. Regular weekly team meetings, both face-to-face and virtually will ensure you feel well-supported in the role and managing the ever-changing priorities of the business.
