Are you passionate about shaping the future of our communities? Do you have a strong interest in spatial planning and sustainable development? We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled and motivated Spatial Planner to join our Growth Planning and Placemaking team.
You will play a crucial role in helping Council plan and shape the growth and development of our vibrant local communities. You'll work closely with mana whenua, stakeholders, including government agencies, and the public, to create and implement planning frameworks that balance environmental, social, cultural and economic needs.
We are looking for a candidate who is:
Experienced in developing and implementing strategic plans and land use policies that align with local, regional and national objectives.
Experienced in collaborating with teams across various departments to support urban planning, infrastructure development, and environmental protection.
Experienced in providing technical planning advice to management and elected members.
Experienced in working with the community and key stakeholders to ensure inclusive and sustainable planning outcomes.
Experienced in building trusted relationships with iwi and hapu partners.

The salary for this position is Grade 18 within Council's salary structure (Band: $96,643 - $113,697 per annum)
dependent on qualifications and experience, plus Kiwi Saver.
