You'll be doing rewarding and important mahi to ensure learners receive quality tertiary education. NZQA is responsible for ensuring the quality of non-university tertiary education organisations and the qualifications and programmes being delivered across New Zealand. The Risk Management team manages regulatory compliance and risk in the tertiary sector. This includes investigating educational quality, student safety and financial compliance. We are seeking an experienced senior analyst with a successful track record, ideally with previous experience in a compliance or investigative role. The role requires managing a varied caseload. No one day is the same! Some of the things you will be doing are: the active management of risk cases including investigating and taking action within a regulatory framework engaging with students and providers on a day-to-day basis from time to time you may need to visit providers as part of an investigation collaborating with other teams within NZQA and actively liaising with relevant agencies Skills and experience We work in a complex environment, to succeed you will be: an excellent analytical thinker with a curiosity for learning comfortable working with ambiguity and applying judgement through using critical thinking able to interpret and apply government policy, legislation and rules an experienced relationship builder, and highly skilled and confident communicator committed to building your cultural competencies and deepening your understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi a 'doer' with a continual improvement mindset who enjoys seeing the outcomes of their work Previous experience of regulatory or investigative work and/or knowledge of the New Zealand tertiary education sector would be an advantage.
