Land Information New Zealand – Wellington Central, North Island
The Crown Property group is responsible for managing around 2 million hectares of Crown land and waterways across New Zealand including surplus crown assets, commercial and residential properties, pastoral leases and forestry licences. We administer the Landbank held for Treaty Settlements, acquisitions and disposals of properties, biosecurity, and Crown Forest licenses. We provide leadership and direction for LINZ administered Crown land, looking for opportunities to maximise these assets for the benefit of New Zealanders.
About your role
As a Senior Office Manager, you will play a crucial role in managing our Crown Property business and financial operations. Your primary responsibilities will include maximizing revenue, ensuring cost efficiency, and securing the best value for our expenditure. We seek a candidate with a robust background in business and finance, particularly someone who has excelled in a small business environment handling all finance functions. You will be familiar with accounts receivable and accounts payable activities. Your strong experience in maximizing revenue, debt recovery, and customer engagement will be invaluable. Attention to detail, cost scrutiny, and supplier value assessment are key attributes for this role. Proficiency in managing multiple systems and maintaining data accuracy is essential.
About your team
You will be part of a small, dedicated team offering expert advice and support across all Crown Property. Collaboration with the broader Crown Property team and our centralised finance team will be a significant aspect of your role.
This fixed-term 12-month position is designed to provide specialized support during a period of increased workload.
Key Responsibilities Financial Management: Skilled in monitoring rent collection, managing expenses, preparing financial reports, and identifying cost-saving opportunities. Experience in coordinating accrual processes for accurate monthly spending and leading rates payment processes.
Tenant Relationship Management: Resolution focused debt management and proactive arrears follow-up while maintaining positive relationships with tenants.
Lease Administration: Expertise in ensuring accurate capture and invoicing of tenancy arrangements, handling rent reviews, renewals, and working with stakeholders to maintain precise lease records and optimize recharging.
Property Maintenance Oversight: Ability to oversee maintenance and repair costs, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
Property Management Knowledge: Preferred is an understanding of property regulations and relevant New Zealand laws.
Salary Range
The salary range for this role is between $100,000 to $125,000 (full-time) per annum.
