We aspire to having a workforce reflective of the communities we serve and achieving equitable outcomes for all.Te whiwhinga mahi| The OpportunityThe Pohutukawa Sexual Assault Assessment and Treatment Service (SAATS), which is part of the Adult Community and Long-Term Conditions Directorate at Te Toka Tumai, is a team of doctors and nurses with specialist training in sexual assault care and forensic medicine. All of our team have been trained in sexual assault care and forensic medicine by the national organisation, Medical Sexual Assault Clinicians Aotearoa (MEDSAC).We are a dynamic team who are in search of a Senior Medical Officer who is keen to take on a permanent 0.4 FTE role. The successful candidate will be required to provide forensic and therapeutic sexual assault and non-fatal strangulation and suffocation (NFSS) services at an expert level within the Pohutukawa SAATS, in accordance with Service Guidelines and Health New Zealand Policy. This includes being part of the after-hours on-call roster. Additional duties include provision of teaching, mentoring and support for other Pohutukawa forensic sexual assault clinicians in the daytime and after-hours teams (doctors and nurses).Choosing to work as part of our team means that you've chosen more than a job – you've chosen a career where you can have a meaningful impact on people's lives every day.
