The Financial Control team is responsible for the timely and accurate preparation, analysis and reporting of financial performance mainly focused on month-end.
Mo te turanga | About the Role
Reporting to the Senior Manager Financial Control, as Senior Finance Analyst, the focus of your role includes but is not limited to; the preparation of month end journals, month end Balance Sheet reconciliations, attestations, Intercompany reconciliations and Consolidation Eliminations.
Additionally, you will be responsible for:
Ensuring accuracy and data integrity of both month-end balance sheet and profit & loss.
Preparation of finance results and commentary for the business where required
Understand, apply, and monitor the application of technical accounting concepts to ensure accurate and timely reflection of business financial performance.
Understand the specific business result and how this impacts the overall consolidated result of both the direct business unit as well as the overall organisation.
Deliver the findings and recommendations of financial analysis in a professional, relevant and insightful way that develops understanding and inspires confidence for decision makers.
Share knowledge and develop relationships with direct and wider Finance teams, Finance Managers and Business Partners, Treasury Finance, Westpac Group, and the wider Bank for customer, risk and product information.
Mentor junior staff members and support peers and Finance Managers and Finance Business Partners.

You will possess:
Strong Accounting and GL knowledge.
Advanced excel skills.
University qualification.
Be CAANZ qualified (or equivalent) – or working towards.
3-5 years' previous financial services or listed company experience (preferred).
