Senior Dental Assistant/Co-Ordinator

We are a specialist dental practice in Dunedin with a close-knit team. We aim to be the best dental practice in New Zealand by using top-quality materials & technology and going 'above and beyond' to ensure a seamless dental journey for our patients. Ellie is a periodontist (treatment of gum disease and cosmetic gum surgery) and Nick is a prosthodontist (think 'dental extreme make-over' type of work). We work with an experienced hygienist, Ness. Our jobs are intense but very rewarding. The Role As our Senior Dental Assistant/Coordinator, you will ideally have a background in dentistry. You will support our experienced specialists/hygienist across a range of procedures, with key responsibilities including preparation, patient administration, and follow-up care. This role extends beyond the typical duties of a dental assistant, providing the opportunity to become an integral part of the team. We're looking for someone with enthusiasm, a willingness to learn, and a commitment to achieving excellent outcomes for our patients. Daily responsibilities include: Chairside assistance during dental procedures and treatments Administration functions such as clinical notes and treatment plans Collaborating with the administration team to ensure smooth day-to-day operations Preparation of instrument trays and sterilisation Providing patients' post-treatment care and follow-up You'll have: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Good organisational skills and attention to detail Experience using a variety of software packages Proficient in managing invoicing and payment processing A keen and eager attitude to learn A team-oriented mindset Ability to start work at 8:30am each morning Applicants must have NZ residency or a current and valid working visa We value integrity, hard work, grit, positivity, and warmth.
