Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Commercial Analyst for Sales and Marketing you will play a lead role in supporting these teams to achieve their performance objectives. This will include providing commercial insight and performance updates, new product development business cases, A&P spend, and return-on-investment of trade spend analysis. You will also own month-end performance reviews, and support the Commercial Manager in strategic business cases.
Day To Day
Business partner to Sales & Marketing Channel teams
Lead month-end review meetings with your key business partners to drive gap closures, risk and opportunity formation, and deliver key actionable insights to the wider business to drive business change.
Key commercial lead on new product development and portfolio optimisation.
Review and control trade spend/A&P spend to ensure optimal spending, accurate monthly & year-end recognition of accruals & rebates, including allocation to brands, products & customers to support analysis.
Lead planning and performance forecasting for Sales and Marketing teams, including forecasting, performance analysis, and decision support.
Provide appropriate financial ROI analysis & tools to support decision-making and to ensure optimal allocation & returns on marketing or trade spend projects.
Build commercial acumen, strategy development & performance focus in the teams you partner with.
Support projects to drive efficiencies and improvements to ways of working and reporting by embracing a continuous improvement mindset.
What You Need To Be Successful
5+ years background in accounting and finance
Experience as an analyst within a commercial finance team, preferably in an FMCG environment
CA/CPA qualified (ideally, but not essential)
Customer pricing and new product development experience would be highly desirable
Finance Business Partner experience with the ability to engage independently with different functions within the business
Able to rapidly evolve finance ways of working to meet strategic shifts in the business
Ability to work with large data sets with Excel
