Based in Manukau, we have an opportunity for an experienced inspector to take a step up into a Senior Building Inspector role. A crucial component of this role is to work with the team to coach and mentor your colleagues through the complexities of building compliance. You will have the opportunity to enhance building control performance by developing knowledge and experience through training and mentoring inspections staff. The senior inspector's role is an integral part of the day-to-day business operations of the inspections team. The role is a key support to the Team Leader in a highly demanding, challenging, and rapidly growing construction sector. You will assist with the allocation of workflows, technical decision making, and improving the overall efficiency of the inspection process. You will undertake a wide variety of field inspections on all building work including commercial and residential buildings to ensure building work is completed in accordance with approved building consent. He korero mou: About You We're looking for a Senior Building Surveyor Inspector who brings not only expertise but also a passion for building excellence in New Zealand. Your extensive experience in a regulatory environment will shine through in your deep understanding of the Building Act 2004, the Building Code, and legislative requirements. Recognised building qualifications and solid experience within Territorial Authority building control are essential. You thrive in collaborative environments, easily building rapport with customers, internal stakeholders, developers, and community groups. Your strong communication and coaching skills will enable our team members to grow and enhance their professional relationships.
