Overall Accountability:This role is to ensure the smooth functioning of the financial operations of an organization, maintain accurate and compliant financial records, and provide financial support to management. Is primarily responsible for overseeing the day-to-day accounting tasks for an organization and ensuring that financial records are accurate, up-to-date, and compliant with relevant standards.Key Responsibilities:Maintain and update general ledgers: Ensure that all transactions are accurately recorded in the company's general ledger.Post journal entries: Record and categorize financial transactions like expenses, revenues, and payroll entries.Reconcile accounts: Perform regular reconciliations of bank accounts, credit card statements, and other financial records.Manage accounts payable and receivable: Oversee the processing of incoming and outgoing payments, ensuring invoices are paid on time and collections are efficiently managed.Manage Capex: Oversee the procedure and processing of capex spending according to the approved budget amounts.Prepare financial statements: Produce balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements to provide insight into the financial health of the organization.Monthly/Annual Closing: Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures, ensuring all transactions for the period are accurately recorded.Generate management reports: Prepare periodic financial reports for senior management, highlighting key financial metrics and performance indicators.Monitor cash flow: Track the organization's cash position to ensure there is enough liquidity to meet operational needs.Forecast cash needs: Provide input into cash flow forecasts and help manage the company's short-term financing requirements.Ensure financial controls: Implement and monitor internal controls to prevent errors, fraud, or misappropriation of company funds.Audit preparation: Prepare for and support audits by ensuring that all necessary documentation and records are available and accurate.Assist with budgeting: Help prepare annual budgets and track performance against budgeted figures.Variance analysis: Compare actual results to budgeted forecasts and analyze discrepancies.Assist with tax filings: Help prepare and file federal, state, and local tax returns (e.g., sales tax, payroll taxes, income tax).Essential Requirements:Relevant NZ University Bachelor or Master Degree QualificationMinimum of 2 years+ accountant work experienceAble to cope with high volume transactionsAttention to detailHighly customer service focused and takes pride in developing and maintaining excellent internal and external customer relationshipsGood Excel skillsExposure to ERP SystemsPreferred:Working towards CA qualificationExperience within the consumer or manufacturing sectorsExposure to MS Dynamics NAVWhat we can offer you:Comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, life and income protection insurance as well as a performance-based bonus scheme.Opportunities for career advancement and professional development.This role is full time (Monday to Friday) and based at our Pokeno site.How to Apply:Fill out the application form below.Click green button - Apply Now - to submit application.If the green button says - Continue Application Next Page - please ensure you complete the form on the next screen to complete your application.Important:Double check your email is entered correctly.Application updates are sent from Chilli Factor recruitment software.Please check your inbox (and junkmail) for application updates.Recruitment team may text message your mobile number to update you on your job application.
