Senior Boiler Service Technician

This role will be primarily based in our branch in Gracefield, Lower Hutt. The company also has branches in Auckland, Hamilton, and Hawkes Bay. Jobs for this branch spread throughout the greater Wellington region up to Palmerston North. Customers include those who manage places where people gather, such as hotels, motels, apartment buildings, rest homes, swimming pools, schools, universities, and prisons. We also manage assets for industrial concerns such as large bakeries, powder coaters, sawmills, beverage bottlers, abattoirs, animal by-products processors, and all manner of other manufacturers who need heat, hot water, hot oil, or steam.
We're looking for a skilled, personable, energetic, versatile, and customer-focused member to join our thriving heating business. The right candidate must be competent and experienced in boiler/burner systems and be able to lead a team alongside the Regional General Manager.
Experience with boilers and burners preferred.
Minimum 40 hours a week. Overtime where required.

Job Description/Skills:
Attending jobs on site to complete servicing, installations, or repairs unsupervised or assisting colleagues
Completing a JSA before every job in job system
Completing timesheets after every job in job system
Completing job notes after each job in job system
Raising purchase orders in job system and gathering supplies from suppliers if required
Cleaning and organizing the workshop after every use to keep H&S compliant
Maintenance/building of electrical control panels
Installation of electrical cable trays, cables, switches, and sockets
Servicing boiler and burners, including ignition systems and fuel/air mix
Install electrical/gas connections of burners/boilers
Reading and creating electrical drawings
Complete site and heating system reviews
Compile quotes to clients for repair work
Keep up to date with current safety regulations and requirements for the various plumbing & gas systems a company installs and maintains
Answer calls from staff to help discuss technical issues with fault-finding, parts replacements, and breakdowns
Answer calls from clients to assist in customer service with technical questions relating to boiler systems
Attention to detail and ability to problem solve
Excellent mechanical and troubleshooting skills
Completing Site Safe, first aid, confined spaces, working at heights, elevated platforms, forklift license courses to stay compliant with industry standards
Attend quarterly staff meetings, training sessions, H&S meetings, toolbox talks, etc.
Self-motivated with attention to detail and excellent workmanship
Ability to work unsupervised and as part of a team
Qualifications/Requirements:
Qualified Electrician or Qualified Gasfitter
Minimum 5 to 7 years boiler/burner experience
Full NZ Driver's license
Valid NZ working or resident visa
