Do you have experience or an interest in supporting grant applications? Do you want to make a real difference in environmental management and community engagement? Hawke's Bay Regional Council is seeking a Science Translator and Fundraising Coordinator to join our Environmental Science team. The role is based in Napier, but a remote working arrangement may be considered for the right candidate.In this exciting role, you will:Develop tailored information resources and tools to translate technical scientific information for diverse audiences.Implement projects and campaigns to effectively communicate complex catchment-specific land and water issues.Engage with and support catchment communities to build understanding of environmental challenges and solutions.Work closely with Council teams, communities, and Tangata Whenua to create impactful communications.Collaborate across multiple science disciplines to craft cohesive, accessible stories for catchments.Assist in adapting scientific reports for different purposes and audiences.Participate in working groups to stay connected with developments in catchment science and citizen science.Develop and maintain the annual grants calendar.Support/lead the development of high-quality grant applications and seek sponsorship where appropriate.Manage successful applications to ensure we are meeting requirements.Build and nurture relationships with donors and supporters.About you | E pa ana ki a koe:We're looking for a passionate and skilled communicator with a strong scientific background. The ideal candidate will have a post-graduate qualification in a relevant field, preferably with a focus on science communication, and at least five years of experience translating complex scientific information for diverse audiences.You'll bring excellent presentation and communication skills, coupled with a deep understanding of catchment issues and environmental challenges.
