Research Associate - Global Health (Policy)Research Associate - Global Health (Policy) National University Of Singapore, Central Region Clinical/Medical Research (Healthcare & Medical) Full time Add expected salary to your profile for insights The SingHealth Duke-NUS Global Health Institute (SDGHI) aims to address current and emerging health challenges in Southeast Asia and more widely in Asia-Pacific. Working in collaboration with partners such as other academic institutions in the region, private sector partners, governments, policy makers, NGOs, industry and donors, the Institute seeks to tackle prevalent health challenges, strengthen national health systems as well as better insulate countries from pandemics and disease threats.The Policy Core is one of five core areas of focus within SDGHI. Its work is divided into three workstreams:Research and analysis: to identify health policy needs in the region and conduct policy research and analysis to address health inequities.Capacity building: to offer training and workshops on policy research methods such as policy analysis to researchers, policymakers, and academics.Engagement and collaboration: to provide a platform for dialogue for cross-sectoral and regional discussions and collaboration.The position of Research Associate at the SDGHI Policy Core will report to the SDGHI Policy Lead with the primary role of supporting the three workstreams above.The key responsibilities for the Research Associate will include but not limited to:Work closely with the policy lead of SDGHI and SDGHI team, related Duke-NUS and Singapore-based institutions, regional and global partners to ensure work-streams are aligned with existing global/regional initiatives and are accomplished in an effective and efficient manner, and adhering to all legislative, policy, procedural and scientific guidelines.Work closely with internal and external partners to conduct policy research and analysis, synthesis of policy documents and reports to document best practices and other related content development.Support capacity-building efforts and stakeholder engagement such as organizing and coordinating events, workshops, meetings, webinars, etc.Support the delivery and execution of programme work across multiple projects in SDGHI, including supporting collaborative efforts with national, regional and global stakeholders, and managing timelines for key outputs and deliverables.Contribute to writing and coordinating grant application processes and management of proposals.Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein, including contributing to occasional administrative and coordination activities.QualificationsMaster's degree in public health, Public Policy or other related disciplines.Minimum 3 to 5 years of professional experience in research with knowledge of health systems and global health.Possess skills for qualitative research methods and experience with a technical understanding of health policy and issues related to global health.Possess strong project management, coordination and analytical skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and supporting capacity building/training efforts.International experience, especially in the South Asian and South-East Asian regions (ideally LMICs) is advantageous.A strong team player with a demonstrated ability to work flexibly and independently, interact and work with stakeholders and team members across various functions and levels in an organization.Able to maintain a professional demeanor and high level of comfort working with high-profile stakeholders from government, industry, academia, institutions, NGOs, and multilateral organizations, at local/regional/international levels.Possess strong writing and critical thinking skills, as well as good communication and presentation skills.We regret that only shortlisted candidates will be notified.A leading global university centred in Asia, the National University of Singapore (NUS) offers a global approach to education and research, with a focus on Asian perspectives and expertise.
