Korero mo te turanga – About the role
We're looking for flexible, dynamic and motivated Registered Nurses to join our Transit nursing team to work in our Transit Unit, at Wellington Regional Hospital. Transit services is a fast-paced and dynamic area to work; we differ from many Transit areas as we provide a 24/7 service. We have a small but highly skilled team of Registered Nurses and Health care assistants. We provide pre-operative operative care for cardiac and surgical patients and Cardiac, Gastroenterology and urology day procedures. The transit team supports discharges from the clinical areas and interfaces with flight for inter-hospital transfers.
As the successful candidate you will demonstrate core competencies in nursing, and be keen to develop new skills and knowledge within a variety of specialties. The ability to function efficiently in a small team and a desire to provide evidence-based quality nursing care and improve the patient journey is essential.

Mou – About you
Essential attributes for this position include a passion for delivering clinical excellence and enthusiasm. You will be outgoing and easily approachable with excellent communication skills and an expectation to be at least proficient level on the PDRP. You should be comfortable with cardiac monitoring and familiar with the use of equipment for various infusions.
Skills and Experience
Must have NZ residency or Citizenship
Must be currently in New Zealand
Current New Zealand Nursing Registration and Annual practising certificate
Previous New Zealand Hospital experience
Minimum 2 years post-graduate nursing experience
Cardiac experience
