With a large hospital campus in Palmerston North, it also provides key health care and support services to neighbouring communities.
The Opportunity PACU at Palmerston North Hospital is looking for nurses who can work well in a team, have excellent clinical skills and a positive attitude. We have various FTE available (0.8 - 1.0FTE). PACU is an acute area that looks after multiple surgical specialities in all age groups post-surgery. Working here you will advance your sills in airway management, comprehensive assessment, advanced pain management and critical care. Either medical or surgical background is suitable given you have the right mind-set for the job and the passion to advance your nursing career in an exciting direction. Orientation is comprehensive (adjusted depending on background),
Shifts are rostered and rotating to include nights.
Essential requirements include: Current Annual Practicing Certificate Two years acute nursing experience Ability to work autonomously Excellent communication skills with a positive attitude Ability to be flexible and prioritise Work well within a multi-disciplinary team
Desirable requirements: Experience in a PACU setting with airway management skills Three years' acute surgical experience Advance IV Certifications Proficient PDRP CORE Advanced
