Registered Nurse - Childrens Ward (Fixed Term)

Location: Hawkes Bay Fallen Soldiers Memorial Hospital
Service/Department: Children's Ward
Contract: Fixed-term, Part-time (64 hours per fortnight) to cover maternity leave
About the role: We are looking for dedicated and experienced Registered Nurses to join our dynamic team in the Children's Ward. In this role, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care to children aged from new-borns to 15 years. Our 16-bed General Paediatric Ward caters to a wide range of conditions, offering you the chance to work in a fast-paced and rewarding environment where no two days are the same. You will play a key role in ensuring that our young patients receive the best possible care, while also supporting their families during what can be a challenging time.
This is a fixed-term, part-time position to cover maternity leave, giving you the opportunity to immerse yourself in paediatric nursing in a supportive environment. If you are looking to further your skills and make a positive difference in the lives of children, this role is perfect for you.

Skills and experience: To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
Current registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand and a current Annual Practising Certificate Proven experience in paediatric nursing, with a strong preference for those with acute care experience A genuine passion for working with children and supporting their families Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with patients, families, and colleagues A commitment to providing high-quality, compassionate care The ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment A proactive approach to problem-solving and a willingness to take initiative Why should you choose us?
