PENSA Doors requires a new team member to grow the Lower North Island to allow us to be more reactive and available for our customers in the area. You need to display at least moderate proficiency & understanding of mechanical & electrical principles, in order to become a full-time, established service technician in the Industrial Door & Docking industry. An Electrical Service Technician License is ideal but not essential.
Vehicle, phone, full tool set & PPE provided for the right candidate. Continuous office & team site support to help develop and build the area and your professional skill set in this niche industry.
Working alongside our established Senior Regional Door Technician, an ongoing training programme will be put in place to ensure the following competencies are met.
Key Responsibilities Assess, repair and maintain entrance systems at the request of the customer and PENSA staff, as part of a scheduled preventative maintenance programme as well as reactive breakdowns.
Provide proactive recommendations to improve site conditions.
Provide detailed reports of any and all progress to Service Coordinator, both in writing (Phone or Tablet) and phone call.
Provide accurate details of work done for every job, following all information prompts as provided in the work done forms.
Strictly follow all site regulations as relayed by each site visited. This includes any and all health and safety, sign-in procedures, contact chains etc.
Maintain high levels of communication with designated customer contact, and if not available, a secondary contact. This then needs to be relayed back to the service coordinator.
Maintain positive, helpful relationships with all customer contacts.
Maintain all stock in technician's vehicle (if applicable) and communicate stock and tool needs in a timely fashion with Service Coordinator.
Maintain a high level of personal appearance– this includes uniform cleanliness & vehicles maintained.
Safety Follow all publicised safety policies/procedures applicable to the job.
Use as instructed, the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) that has been identified on the Hazard Analysis for the department/role.
Attend and participate in all safety training, safety committee meetings, audits and Behaviour Based Safety programs assigned (includes external courses as per agreement).
Report all safety hazards observed. If capable, correct the safety hazard identified.
Ensure all site supplied Health & Safety procedures are followed for every job.
Key Competencies An understanding of Industrial Doors and Docking equipment service requirements and High-Speed Doors installation and service requirements.
Understanding of Installation and Service business.
Proven technical experience.
Ability to work autonomously.
Comfortable working with customers both face to face and over the phone.
Always thinking about offering solutions to customers as well as looking to generate new revenue by selling the company's products and services.
Demonstrated safety focus with a strong understanding of OHS.
Excellent communication and numeracy skills both written and verbal.
