St John of God Geelong Hospital is a 253 bed hospital and is recognised as the leading provider of private health care in the Barwon and South-Western region. The hospital provides a range of services including an emergency department, day surgery, medical, surgical and maternity services, along with a 24 hour critical care unit and Cath Lab services.
Your Role
You will be responsible for providing high standard support and assistance to patients, visitors and caregivers and directing queries accordingly.
The Position
Coordinate outpatient clinic and bookings. Liaise with medical and allied health caregivers about clinic changes.
Process payments and admissions through patient administration system.
Assist patients, visitors and general public with enquiries and directions.
Receive and process referrals, checking health insurance details and notifying patients of any extra charges they may incur.
Liaise and communicate with a broad allied health and outpatient team to ensure exceptional patient service.
Inform the Allied Health Manager of any problems encountered whilst on duty.
You will have interpersonal skills - ability to relate to hospital staff, patients, families and medical staff and ability to prioritize a busy and varied workload. To succeed you will have availability to work across at least four days a week and demonstrate excellent problem-solving and communication skills. Salary: $56,585 to $58,212 per annum (pro rata basis for part time), plus 11.5% superannuation.
Permanent Part-time Role, working 60 hours a fortnight.
