The Women's Health Ultrasound department in Te Toka Tumai Auckland services an active specialist referral base with tertiary, regional and national services. The Women's Health sonography team at Auckland City Hospital offers inpatient and high-risk outpatient services, whilst at Greenlane Clinical Centre an outpatient service is offered. Across the Women's Health service, we have 8 Ultrasound machines. You will work closely with the Women's Health Fetal Medicine Team, obstetricians, and gynaecologists.
There is an AGFA PACS system with a filmless environment.
Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity
In this position, you will provide a Diagnostic reporting service in Women's Health Ultrasound for Auckland DHB and work at both GCC and ACH sites to support our wahine and whanau. The ultrasounds are largely performed by our highly skilled team of sonographers, but there may at times be some hands-on scanning required.
The position is a permanent part-time (0.15 – 0.3 FTE) with both morning and afternoon sessions available depending on the day of the week. You will be responsible for issuing reports and signing off sonographer reports, liaising with other services, providing opinions on other imaging modalities, supervising sonographers, and radiology registrars.
Nga Pukenga Motuhake | Important Skills
As the ideal candidate, you will demonstrate a sound knowledge of ultrasound interpretation ideally with experience in Obgyn and Women's Health imaging. You will be a qualified Radiologist with a genuine interest in Women's Health or an Obstetrician/gynaecologist who holds a Diploma in Medical Diagnostic Ultrasound (DDU).
You will have or be eligible to apply for vocational registration and an Annual Practising Certificate with the Medical Council of New Zealand.
