BestStart Greenwood Street is situated in an industrial area and has three separate rooms with their own individual outside areas. Our centre's philosophy is based on the Maori values of Whanaungatanga (Relationships), Waananga (Learning and Discussions) and Aroha (Love and Care). Our centre is serviced by 3 vans which bring children to and from the centre daily.
We provide morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea and for our children who are on all day bookings we provide late snack. We have a well established teaching team with a diverse group of cultures and a range of spoken languages, from Te Reo Maori, Fijian, Mandarin, Hindi and English. Whether you are a newly qualified teacher or an experienced educator, if you have a passion for teaching young children, we want to hear from you. Based in our Kea Room, which is licensed for 25 children, our new Kaiako must enjoy working in a bicultural setting and relate well with tamariki and whanau of diverse cultural backgrounds. You will be working alongside our 2 and 3 year old tamariki, supporting our children to develop their communication skills and regulate their emotions as they are navigating social competency.
This is a permanent position working 30 hours per week Monday-Friday, on a fixed shift from 9am - 3.30pm.

B Ed/Dip Teaching Level 7 (ECE or Primary) and current Teacher Certification Good understanding of child-led curriculum, planning, assessments and evaluations Proficiency in Te Reo Maori is desirable or a willingness to learn is a must Demonstrate good knowledge of the current ECE Regulations, Te Whariki and hold compliance in a high regard A strong commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi through pedagogical practices Passion and commitment for teaching and learning with a focus on delivering quality
