This is an innovative national main contractor with a successful history of delivering commercial projects spanning 20 years. They are delivering projects in the $20M - $150M region with a mix of negotiated work from existing clients, active tendering but increasingly ECI projects. They are proven performers across larger government projects including healthcare, large tertiary institutions and schools as well as key commercial infrastructure projects. They have an impressive staff retention record, they know what will fit their culture, a cohesive team that gels with clear and common goals articulated throughout. Due to an increase in work pipeline, an opening has opened up for a Project Manager to join the team and be a key driver for the delivery of a $30M+ project. The role will see you working closely with the site team, ensuring the team is being supported, actively ensuring their performance and enabling project profitability. You'll be evaluating any issues on programme with regular communication. You will be across all key relationships including with the client, external PM's and consultants. Working with the commercial manager, you will be proactively monitoring commercial and contractual issues providing any onsite feedback. There will also be a strong emphasis on HS, compliance and upholding quality. Key Success Factors For This Role Require Carpentry trade and/or a tertiary qualification in construction management, quantity surveying or engineering. 10+ years' experience in managing medium to large complex projects with NZ experience essential. Strong knowledge of the local sub-contractor construction market. Ability to lead and performance manage a construction team to achieve agreed outcomes. Strong financial management with ability to drive cost accountability. Outstanding relationship building strengths with consultants and the client. Remuneration: $150K - $170K + veh.
