Project Coordinator - Priority Projects at Ministry of Health, WellingtonWellington based only, 6-month fixed term, hybrid working environment.Exciting and fast paced working environment, making a difference to the health of Kiwi's.Salary midpoint of $71,363 per annum, actual salary dependent on your experience.Ko ake mahi - What you'll do As the Project Coordinator, you will provide support and assistance to manage the work of the Director, and co-ordinate the wider work of the Priority Projects Group and the Medical Products work programme. This will include providing a range of administrative support including liaising and engaging with external stakeholders to ensure that the team can work efficiently and effectively. You will be the go-to person in the Group and have oversight of the status of work across the programme.
Key Responsibilities: A proven ability to provide strong administration and coordination support across complex programmes of work.Ability to create office management processes including filing, diary and calendar management, record keeping and risk and assurance processes.Great organisational and planning skills, able to manage conflicting priorities.Real attention to detail and production of high quality documents.Demonstrated experience and understanding of the complete Microsoft suite of software – including PowerPoint, Excel and MS Project, and can provide advice and support to others.The ability to be both agile and adaptive in your working style.Excellent prioritisation skills, use of initiative, ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.Relationship management skills – able to establish, build and maintain respectful, effective working relationships with stakeholders to accomplish goals.Strong and effective written and verbal communication.At Manatu Hauora – Ministry of Health, we are the kaitiaki of the health system, providing leadership and driving strategy and performance. We regulate the health sector and are the primary source of advice on health matters.
The Ministry's Priority Projects Group is responsible for the design, progression and implementation of the new Medical Products Bill, due to be enacted in 2026 and to "go-live" in 2028. The legislation will oversee the regulation of all medicines and medical devices available in Aotearoa / New Zealand.
