Buller District Council is seeking an experienced Project Accountant to join our team.
What will you do?
Work with key stakeholders across the organisation to develop budgets for the Annual Plan and Long-term Plan.
Maintain the Budgeting model to assist in developing affordable plans to the community.
Assist the Manager Finance with the development and implementation of Council's business improvement projects.
Assist in controlling and overseeing financial systems and operations, ensuring compliance with internal controls and legislation, and input into production of statutory documents including annual report, annual plan, long term plan.
Assist in providing financial reporting across the organisation (internal reporting).
Who are you?
You will have solid technical accounting and financial analysis skills and, be able to demonstrate an understanding of financial systems and operations ideally in a local government environment.
In addition, you will have a good working knowledge of financial systems, including concepts, principles, planning and reporting.
A team player with excellent relationship-building and communication skills is essential to this role.
