Programming & Production (Advertising, Arts & Media) The Quarry Arts Centre is a rustic and eclectic community hub set against Pukenui Forest and just a few minutes walk from Whangarei CBD. Local artists are supported to practice, develop and share their work, beginners and professionals alike. With a focus on ceramics and object arts, the Quarry Art Centre is a thriving maker-space and plays an integral part in the creative landscape of Whangarei and Te Taitokerau. We are seeking a highly engaged and self-motivated person for the Programmes Lead role, to make it their own. With plenty of scope for growth, you can guide the development of the centre's arts learning programmes, for the benefit of the local arts community and general public. The role covers a range of responsibilities including: Plan and maintain arts and crafts workshops and education programme. Design and develop new workshops in alignment with the NCT strategic Plan Collaborate with team members to ensure the programmes are well advertised, administered and attended. Collaborate with team members to maximise the opportunities for participants to engage with more programmes and services. Maintain and recruit a diverse and talented group of arts tutors and facilitators. Identify and engage new participant groups to increase community participation, especially special-needs and minority groups. Being a good team member and supporting with miscellaneous tasks as the need arises. Attributes and Experience Required  Minimum 2 years experience in a similar role Strong understanding of arts education, especially the ceramics sector Engaging and positive people skills, confidence in interacting with people from diverse backgrounds Able to build and maintain stakeholder relationships Able to work in alignment with strategic goals towards organisation outcomes Attention to detail and excellent record keeping Well organised and great time management skills Positive, can-do attitude with strong initiative Creative thinker with strong problem solving skills Excellent written and verbal skills Competence with computer-based sales systems Time-flexibility to manage a dynamic programmes schedule Knowledge of arts education in primary, secondary and tertiary sectors Understanding of Tiriti o Waitangi partnership obligations Community Development experience This role requires 30 hours per week, on a self-directed weekly schedule.
