Having high-performance Production and Warehousing operations, focused on accurate component assembly, timely product delivery, process excellence and satisfied customers is critical to the organisation?s business goals and to its Company values. The Production Assistant plays a key supporting role in ensuring that this operation runs continuously at its optimum.
Reporting to the Production Supervisor, you will manage and monitor workflow by having the right components in the right quantities, at the right place at the right time. You will have the ability to anticipate and make provision for any variances that might occur due to stock levels, defects, or changes to staff scheduling. You will be responsible for setting up the production lines and be trained to work on them when required. You?ll also provide assistance to the Warehouse Supervisor with regard to inventory control.
Your strengths will be in making sure that all the pieces of the puzzle come together in an accurate and timely manner to produce products of the highest quality. You will be familiar with, and committed to striving for continuous improvement in the workplace, and be results orientated, whilst realising that quality cannot be compromised. Your proven relationship building skills will also be called upon, as you develop and foster positive working alliances with Bluelab?s customers and suppliers. The role requires some physical stamina, as you will spend a lot of time on your feet, undertaking a wide variety of production based tasks as part of your daily responsibilities.
To excel in this role, you will have:
Proven experience in a similar role (at least 2 years)being able to demonstrate practical production and/or warehousing knowledge, particularly inventory control.
Prior experience in component assembly, and/or knowledge of electronic components would be an advantage.
Excellent customer relations and relationship building skills.
Experience in working with and implementing continuous improvement and development initiatives.
Be logical and process orientated, with an eye for improving both systems and processes.
Be familiar with FIFO and Kanban and 5S concepts, practices and methodology.
Be safety aware with a knowledge of current Health and Safety legislation (the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015.
A good level of physical fitness, and be able to spend long periods of time on your feet.
A clean, current NZ full Driver?s License.
An understanding of, or interest in, the horticulture industry is desirable, but not essential.
