The Procurement team at the Christchurch City Council operates as an integral part of Corporate Services acting as a shared service provider and enabler to the Council's business units.
About the role | Ko te mahi nei This position works within the Procurement and Contracts Infrastructure team, to:
Assist Team members to deliver procurement projects from project initiation to contract award and handover in accordance with agreed plans and timeframes.Provide operational guidance to others in relation to Council's procurement processes and procedures and be a role model for procurement best practice.Be knowledgeable in, promote and perform in alignment with Council's policies, strategies, business plans, processes and procedures.Develop and maintain healthy, collaborative and effective relationships with Council's business units and suppliers.Criteria: Key skills, experience and knowledge Experience in procurement or related experience, ideally within a medium to large organisation.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Good analytical skills.Excellent organisational skills.Very good knowledge of Microsoft applications (particularly MS Word and MS Excel).Knowledge of procurement disciplines and methodology.Training/Education in Procurement, Project Management, Commerce, Business, Finance or Law.What's in it for you?

Hours of work: Permanent Fulltime PositionLocation:This position is primarily based at Civic Offices - 53 Hereford Street.
ChristchurchSalary-The salary band for this position is $81,227 - $90,252 per annum based on a 40 hour week.
Starting salaries will be based on knowledge, skills and experience the successful candidate brings to the role, and relativities both, within the immediate team and in the broader organisation for the same or similar roles.Applications will be reviewed as they are received, and interviews may take place prior to the close date.
