Strong proficiency in production weld equipment troubleshoot and problem solving Knowledge of mig and spot welding using both manual and robotic automated assembly techniques Above average knowledge and experience with assembly weld fixtures in a production environment Experience with PLC programming is a must CAD competency, reading and understanding of drawings and blueprints. Read and evaluate product specification and mechanical data. Understanding and application of lean principles of: 5's, Single Minute Exchange of Die (SMED) and Value Stream Mapping (VSM). Manufacturing related project management required. Familiarity with basic mechanical tools and their use in fabrication, measurement and assembly. Familiarity with current robotic welding process design, analysis and verification techniques. Skills: Ability to read, write and communicate in English Critical thinking and controlled response to rapidly changing work and customer demands. Self-motivated and interpersonal skills Problem solving, troubleshooting and decision making skills Good analytical skills and good mechanical aptitude Mathematics and measuring skills Demonstrate proactive thinking, energetic and hands-on work ethic. Process Management Training: Training requirements and courses will be specified on the training matrix. Participate in active and ongoing training and development as required. Safety Responsibilities: Ensure that you work in compliance of the Occupational Health and Safety Act including but not limited to all requirements outlined in Section 28. Review, understand and comply with all policies and procedures in the Dresden Industrial Health and Safety Manual. Knowledge of workplace hazardous material procedures in a production environment. Quality Responsibilities: Maintain quality standards on all products and processes. Responsible for ensuring that all manufacturing processes meet or exceed all quality expectations for the product. Exercise compliance with TS 16949 standards when implementing and performing all company procedures. Integrate environmental practices and commit to the continuous improvement of the EMS. Exercise compliance with ISO 14001 standards. General Responsibilities: Prepare and submit as directed any welding related changes to manufacturing processes. Plan, specify, procure and install new welding and assembly equipment and fixtures for both local and international plants. Ability to quickly analyze existing welding related manufacturing/production methods and develop or improve processes to increase measured efficiencies. Work alongside the Manufacturing Engineering group to provide and formulate cost effective processes for new products that meet or exceed customer requirements. Conducting tests on welding process systems for efficiency and accuracy until a quality and cost-effective production process is implemented successfully. Effective planning and management of weld design projects to ensure all internal and external project requirements are completed within required delivery times. Follow financial budgets and other constraints in project management timelines. Overseeing and perform adjustments as required in robotic and spot welding manufacturing cells to measurably boost productivity and product quality. Support researching and purchasing of new welding related technologies in collaboration with the plant engineering department to improve production equipment functionality. Implementing the transition of new welding technology to make sure production continues successfully and meets both internal and external requirements. Preparing welding processes related documentation (i.e. Operator Instructions, Weld Parameter Control). Perform dry testing of production weld cells with designated fail-safe masters to ensure all required part checking and quality systems are 100% functional and document the same as per the required frequency. Foster a positive team environment and assist coworkers as required. Comply with all company policies and procedures.
