Well, do we have an opportunity for you!The Strategy, Investment, and Organisational Performance (SIOP) team within the Strategy and Insights business group is responsible for leading the development of MSD strategies (including investment strategies), accountability documents, organisational performance measurement frameworks and reporting. The group also provides strategic advice to Ministers, the Leadership Team, and wider MSD on social investment, stewardship policy issues and Crown entity strategy, accountability and performance.The Crown Entities team within SIOP supports the Minister for Social Development and Employment by providing advice on the strategic direction and performance of the three Crown Entities the Minister is responsible for, together with appointments support for a further four entities.The Principal Advisor Crown Entities provides high-level technical expertise and thought leadership for the Ministry, ensuring best practice advice is delivered in relation to Crown entity monitoring and appointments. Supporting the Manager Strategy and Performance and the General Manager SIOP, you will help ensure the Minister meets their obligations, and that MSD adds value through its monitoring and appointments functions.This role oversees Crown entity monitoring and statutory appointments, ensuring they are well-integrated and aligned with best practice. You will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to achieve these outcomes.We are seeking a candidate with 3-5 years of experience in Crown entity monitoring and appointments. This could be an experienced Principal Advisor looking for oversight opportunities and to drive improvements, or a very experienced Senior Advisor ready to advance their career.You will also have:A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline or equivalent operational experience.Proven experience leading Crown entity monitoring and statutory appointment processes, with strong project and people management skills.Extensive experience with government processes (ministerial, Cabinet and Parliamentary processes, budget and public service management systems).Strong strategic thinking with the ability to grasp high-level management issues and recommend innovative solutions.Excellent analytical, writing, and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly and concisely.Proven experience managing senior-level relationships both internally and externally.High political awareness, sound judgement, and the ability to navigate sensitive issues effectively.Join us as Principal Advisor and bring your expertise to drive strategic outcomes and ensure best practice across the Ministry.
