PGF Services is a not-for-profit organisation who has been delivering gambling harm prevention services across New Zealand for more than three decades. With sustainable funding secured, we are implementing new ways of working including offering a stepped model of care to anyone impacted by gambling harm. We provide free, professional, and confidential treatment interventions to anyone impacted by gambling harm and integrate this with a strong health promotion programme in communities.

About the role
This Pou Awhina First Contact and Response role is based in Christchurch. The role offers lots of variety and includes providing a professional engaging service to all tangata whaiora and whanau, meeting their immediate needs and delivering a national e-health service. This role will include a mix of frontline work and some afterhours work, as well as having your own caseload of remote tangata whaiora. Your experience as an addiction's practitioner, social worker or mental health worker will be beneficial; we don't require you to have experience in gambling harm treatment.
What you will bring
The successful candidate will:
Have or be working towards a qualification in a relevant field such as social work, mental health, counselling and/or addiction.
Have full or provisional membership to a governing body such as NZ Psychological Society, Social Work Registration Board, NZ Council of Nursing, Dapaanz, or Te Whatu Ora Accredited NZAC.
Have the ability to work cross-culturally and engage with diverse communities.
Have high standards of record keeping.
Have a full and clean driver's license.
Be competent in data entry and experience with Microsoft 365 programmes is desirable.
