Your role is to provide leadership in supporting agencies working in open spaces, natural resources / environment areas and public conservation lands. The aspiration is to be New Zealand's best track and trail asset managers and construction specialists. Ruapehu WorX is also about local jobs for local people and creating pathways into sustainable employment.The role will focus on:Be a leader, passionate about the environment or looking to grow your knowledge and experience in the outdoors and protecting native species.Be prepared to lead and work in the elements – Ruapehu region can experience four seasons in one day!Be ready to undertake lots of training and learning opportunities.Work well as a team and individually.Have a good level of physical fitnessWant to grow your skills in many areas, from conservation to recreational services.Leading initiatives s related to wellbeing; recognising the vital role that whenua plays in this;Building relationships with stakeholders to enhance the aspirations of Ngati RangiWe are looking for someone who has:Qualifications in management; community development; or environmentalExceptional communication skills, ability to engage and communicate with people across all levels.Demonstrate the ability in embracing change, think outside the box and to work within current frameworks.Ability to analyse and solve complex problems, form judgements, and provide advice and recommendations.Ability to broker relationships with a range of stakeholders and come up with innovative ways to give effect to the aspirations of Ngati Rangi.Ability or developing competency in te reo Maori, tikanga, ability to work alongside and implement our Ngati Rangi way.We will consider the "right person" who is a lateral thinker with a relevant qualification and experience in a related field looking to move into management.This is a permanent, full-time Monday to Friday 8.00am to 5.00pm (40 hours per week) however availability outside of these hours is required to fulfil the requirements of the position .
