Our Corporate Policy team serves the operational and strategic activity of the Dunedin City Council. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Policy Analyst to join a team of professionals in a dynamic and supportive environment.
The Policy Analyst takes a broad view of the Council's strategic, planning and policy environment for the purpose of producing analysis, advice and reports to serve the Council's priority areas. The Policy Analyst will have work experience and a developing practice of analytical, problem solving, research and policy skills to provide this service. They will be skilled in working in a team, providing attention to detail, supporting with writing and actively supporting the policy team in delivering quality work within expected timeframes.
The key responsibilities of this role will include but not be limited to the following:
Providing council with research, writing, advice and analysis
Working collaboratively with teams across Council ensuring Policy work is evidence-based, robust and timely
To be considered for this role, you will have:
A relevant tertiary qualification
A working knowledge of central or local government processes
Experience working in a policy analyst role
Developed communication skills both verbal and written, especially around policy, process and reporting type documents
Experience with developing and maintaining effective relationships with key stakeholders and strategic partners
A sound knowledge of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and Kai Tahu tikaka, with developing proficiency in te reo Maori or a desire to learn

Salary range: $86,428 - $101,680
