With a large hospital campus in Palmerston North, it also provides key health care and support services to neighbouring communities.The OpportunityThe Physiotherapy Service is seeking applications for an experienced physiotherapist to join the Acute Services team.
This role involves working as part of a multidisciplinary team and managing acute neurological conditions within the acute ward setting.The Acute Stroke Service provides assessment and care for patients who have suffered a recent stroke.
It is a 6-bed unit situated within a medical ward.
The multidisciplinary team comprises a specialist medical team, CNS, Occupational Therapist, Social Worker, Speech Language Therapist, Dietitian, Allied Health Assistant, and Physiotherapist.Ongoing professional development is supported with external education opportunities, in addition to the physiotherapy in-service programme.
There will be an expectation that you will be available to provide clinical supervision for 4th-year physiotherapy students from Otago University.This is a permanent full-time position and an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic physiotherapist to share their experience and skills in the acute setting to further develop this area of physiotherapy practice.
