Job Type(s): Full time, Part time & Fixed term
Pathlab Bay of Plenty
We are looking for enthusiastic and adaptable individuals to join our friendly Patient Services team based in Tauranga and surrounding areas.
About the company | Mo Tatou
Pathlab Bay of Plenty is a proud member of the wider Pathlab group. Owned and directed by a team of highly experienced, local Pathologists, we are proud of our robust systems and innovative solutions. We are quality and people-focused, helping more than 5,000 patients per day throughout the Waikato, Bay of Plenty, and Lakes areas.
Our values reflect our commitment to service excellence, treating each other with respect and honesty, staying enthusiastic about continuous improvement, respecting our New Zealand heritage, and acknowledging the Treaty of Waitangi.
As a phlebotomist, you will be taking blood and samples from patients for diagnostics laboratory testing in a timely and correct manner. You will play a crucial role in providing exceptional customer experiences to our patients by ensuring all patients are treated with dignity, respect, and courtesy.
Full-time, part-time and fixed term positions are available.
The position holder will be rostered between our ten collection sites from Katikati to Te Puke. Rostered hours are between the hours of 0700 and 1800 Monday to Friday, with participation in a weekend roster (Saturday and Sunday rostered morning shifts) and rostered public holidays.
Work hours may vary depending on the site you are working at and therefore the successful applicant must be flexible to the needs of the service and be able to work across sites within the Bay of Plenty.
Ideally, you will be a qualified Phlebotomist; you will be familiar with performing a range of venepuncture techniques and can work without direct supervision. However, if you don't have this, but are caring, and friendly, and would like to be a part of a team that contributes to patient care, we will be more than happy to train you.
You will also demonstrate the following:
Current APC and registration with the Medical Sciences Council of New Zealand (desirable).
Experience in a customer service-related role.
A calm demeanour and resilience.
Attention to detail and an ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Commitment, drive, and enthusiasm.
A capacity to work well in a team as well as autonomously.
A clean and current NZ Driver's Licence.
Previous medical laboratory experience is an advantage but is not a prerequisite. We are also interested in hearing from candidates who are passionate about science and want to further their careers in one of our cutting-edge laboratories. We commit to providing you with a full training plan and support to develop technical competencies that will enable you to sit an exam through the NZIMLS and register as a Medical Laboratory Pre-Analytical Technician with the NZ Medical Sciences Council.
Why Pathlab?
