Pharmacist Facilitator - Community Mental Health New Zealand Government Permanent, part-time role (0.4 FTE), working 32 hours per fortnight Works closely with medical, allied and nursing colleagues to maximise the safety and efficacy of pharmaceutical intervention to adults with moderate to severe mental illness. Nga mohiohio e pa ana ki tenei mahi (About this position) This role will provide pharmacist support to community-based adult mental health service users, working collaboratively within a full multi-disciplinary team. You will be providing direct provision of clinical advice to clients, prescribers, and clinicians. This is a community role based within the adult mental health team at Wairau hospital for the promotion of best practice in all aspects of pharmaceutical treatment. Ko wai he kaitono totika? You will be a motivated pharmacist with recent community and/or hospital pharmacy experience, who is passionate about improving the quality of care for mental health service users. A high level of communication and networking skills will be essential, as will a drive to achieve win-win outcomes for service users and members of the multi-disciplinary team alike. Current registration with the Pharmacy Council of New Zealand is required, along with a current Annual Practising Certificate. A Post Graduate qualification in Clinical Pharmacy is an advantage. This role will suit a clinician with existing expertise in the treatment of mental disorder or one with a passion to gain expertise in this field. Experience and expertise in physical medicines is also relevant for providing optimum care for our mental health clients. Suitable applicants will be team players with an appetite for working in a fully multidisciplinary environment, willing to learn from others as well as share expertise. Applicants will have excellent personal organisation, good time management, and enjoy relating directly with service users. The successful candidate must be eligible to work in New Zealand or hold a valid NZ visa at the time of applying.
