Based in the vibrant coastal town of Oamaru, our core business is bringing electricity from the national grid to over 13,000 connected customers in North Otago and parts of South Canterbury. Network Waitaki provides innovative energy solutions to our customers, as well as providing electrical construction and maintenance services across New Zealand.
We are excited to offer the opportunity for a People & Safety Advisor to join our Network Waitaki family. This is a permanent role and we are open to looking at either part-time or full-time hours for the right person.
This role will be working within the People and Safety team predominantly as a People & Capability Advisor but will also provide some cover for the health & safety side of the team while our Health & Safety Advisor is on parental leave.

You will be working within a small team supporting the GM People & Safety to execute the People and Safety strategies and initiatives for the business, a key part of this role will be working closely with all our people across the business either in the office or out in the field.
The right person will bring:
Previous experience working in an HR Advisory role or similar
Experience in advising and supporting leaders across a range of HR and ER matters
Some previous experience in Health & Safety would be handy but not essential
You might have worked in a similar asset intensive utility or regulated industry
You have working knowledge of NZ employment legislation and even better if you have understanding/experience of Health & Safety legislation.
Previous experience in recruitment and other people-focused functions and projects.
