We are looking for people who can assist our teams to ensure that we continue to provide a welcoming and safe environment for the Emergency Department, Inpatient Mental Health Unit and our Older Persons - Mental Health Unit at Alexandra Hospital in Richmond. As a Patient Support and Security Worker you will focus on working with staff to best meet the needs of patients and their whanau accessing our services. As this is a casual position, there are no fixed/guaranteed hours of work. However, the more available you are the more shifts you'll be offered. The hourly rate ranges from $23.50 to $28.18 per hour, dependent upon relevant NZQA qualifications and experience. Penal rates apply to nights (25%) between 8.00PM and 6.00AM, weekends (50%) from midnight Friday/Saturday until midnight Sunday/Monday and public holidays (100%). Ko wai he kaitono totika? You will be the type of person who works in a rational and calm manner and who has the skills and experience to effectively de-escalate difficult situations and promote a safe and therapeutic environment. You will be able to relate well to patients and their visitors. You will be able to work with the clinical team and follow directions. Previous experience in security, or a related industry is preferred. However, this is not essential as training will be provided. The successful candidate must be eligible to work in New Zealand or hold a valid NZ visa at the time of applying.
