About The Role This is a fantastic opportunity for a Leading Hand to join our team. The successful candidate will work alongside our Te Awamutu Parks & Reserves Supervisor, leading a team of Parks Operators and Sextons who are responsible for maintaining our parks, gardens, sports fields and public cemeteries. This team works 7.30am - 4.00pm, Monday - Friday. The role starts and finishes each day at our Te Awamutu Depot. We are looking to appoint for a start by 8 January or earlier if possible.
About You To be successful in this role, you'll need:
Significant experience with horticulture and horticultural plant and equipment;Strong knowledge of health and safety requirements and processes (although you will have expert support from a dedicated H&S Business Partner); A genuine desire to foster great relationships and inspire, support and grow staff. The role requires someone motivated and organised, who can assist in the creation and management of effective work schedules. Experience mentoring or training others would be a bonus. Local government and cemeteries experience would be handy, although not essential. All our leaders are supported to grow and develop their leadership capabilities via our in-house Leadership Development Programme.
