PALLIATIVE MEDICINE SPECIALIST Permanent, Full Time We have an exciting opportunity for a Specialist Palliative Care doctor to join our dynamic team at Hospice Whanganui. Whanganui is a super groovy town in the lower North Island with a vibrant arts, culture and café scene, alongside amazing outdoor and recreational opportunities. It has a great climate and is central to many other towns and cities in New Zealand. We are an engaging and vibrant group of people who are passionate about providing exceptional palliative care to all people in our community. We believe that everyone should have equal access to specialist palliative care in the place they choose to be. This means that, while we have a small in-patient facility, most of our services are provided in the community in patients' homes and in partnership with their whanau. Our philosophy is to work in a truly holistic and integrated way to meet the total needs of our patients and their whanau and to support them to live the best life they can with the time they have left. Our team consists of medical officers, nurse practitioner, registered nurses, social work/whanau support staff, health care assistants, pharmacist, and clinical support staff to enable a collaborative and inter-disciplinary approach to our work. We work closely with many other partners across our community, including General Practice teams, Maori health providers, home-care providers, residential aged care facilities, St John's ambulance, Te Whatu Ora o Whanganui and the hospital-based team. We also work closely with Arohanui Hospice in Palmerston North. This position will suit someone who is looking to join a forward-looking team of professionals who are committed to testing the status quo in order to bring excellent palliative care to people in this region. You will bring your passion and experience in palliative care to make a difference in our community. If you are interested in this position, please apply online and attach an up to date copy of your CV for consideration. #J-18808-Ljbffr
