With 35 years local experience, Modo Flooring are your trusted flooring supplier in Gisborne. The business is continually growing and now is looking for an Office Assistant to join the team.

This role could be a stepping stone towards a larger Administration position. Initially learn essential day-to-day office tasks required to run the business successfully, then progress to helping the team with their work to learn further skills and grow your role.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities
Initial daily duties will include –
Job invoicing
Loading documentation into the accounting system
Collating spreadsheets and invoices to cost work completed
Process all documentation to accurately invoice out work completed
Ensure all work has been invoiced
Answering telephones and ensuring customers in the store have been attended to by a salesperson
Ensuring the store is tidy and all displays are welcoming to customers
Great delivery of these tasks could lead the successful candidate to a more senior position. As you learn your new role, you will be acquiring product knowledge and understanding of how this business operates. In doing so, your role can grow and lead you to a senior and responsible career. Your work attitude and ability will open the opportunities available.
Skills and Experience
Proven successful office skills and experience
Use and understanding of Accredo would be an advantage, or experience in other advanced accounting programs
Understanding of business and accounting principles and/or educational qualification in this area
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to get alongside staff tactfully to achieve required results
Ability to see the "big picture" and work with other departments to attain shared goals
Honest, hardworking and loyal
Attention to detail, accuracy and the ability to work well under pressure
Ability to learn processes of the Administration of the business to provide succession planning for both your future and future administration team members
Team player and willing/capable of working alongside staff when there is a heavy workload
Ability to prioritise jobs to ensure important comes before urgent
Able to provide solutions to issues quickly and effectively
Take and use initiative
Prepared to be accountable
A willingness to gain basic product knowledge to assist in the understanding of job processing.
