He Korero mo te turanga - About the Role
We are seeking an Occupational Therapist for our Mental Health Services for Older People (MHSOP) Inpatient Unit at Tauranga hospital. This is a 0.6FTE (48 hours per fortnight) fixed term position until October 2025 to cover parental leave.
Ideally you will be an enthusiastic team player with excellent interpersonal skills and an interest in working with older people. The successful applicant will be expected to have a good understanding of mental health conditions and ageing related illnesses.
This varied role will involve completing functional, cognitive, and sensory assessments, developing the activity programme with the Occupational Therapy Assistant, running community group programs, and completing one to one treatment.
The Occupational Therapist will work within the Mental Health Recovery principles and person-centred care model to enhance the quality of life.
He Korero mou - About You
To be considered for this role you will need to be registered with the New Zealand Occupational Therapy Board with minimum 2 years' experience, hold a current Annual Practicing Certificate and a full, clean driver licence.
