Up to 12 months fixed term, 1.0FTE80 hours per fortnightOur team is committed to supporting adults in the Marlborough region who are experiencing a range of mental health challenges.
We are seeking a registered Occupational Therapist to join our adult mental health team. In this role, you will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary professionals. The role undertakes the important clinical function of assessment and rehabilitation of clients managed within the service with acute and/or enduring mental health illness, improving day-to-day functional independence and quality of life. Key responsibilities include:
Conduct assessments to understand individual needs and develop personalised intervention plans.Work with patients to identify and achieve their personal recovery goals, focusing on building practical skills and resilience.Facilitate individual sessions using occupational therapy techniques that promote mental health and well-being.Collaborate with a team of health professionals to provide integrated, coordinated care.Engage in community outreach to educate and support individuals and their families about mental health recovery resources.Ko wai he kaitono totika? (Who is an appropriate applicant?) You will have current registration with the NZ registration in Occupational Therapy and a valid practising certificate. Previous experience in adult mental health is highly desirable.
You will have strong assessment, planning, and organisational skills, compassion, empathy, and a commitment to supporting individuals on their recovery journey, and excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
