The role of the Nursing Lecturer involves teaching specific subjects within the undergraduate Nursing Programme, developing and delivering learning objectives, and providing practical learning experiences. This position requires collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure high-quality education and support for students. Two fulltime and one part-time (0.5) roles available.
The appointing salary for this role will be negotiable, dependent on skills and experience.
The Nursing Lecturer is based in our School of Nursing | Te Pukenga reporting to the Head of School, Nursing and will be responsible for:
Student Learning : Teach nursing subjects, develop teaching plans, and facilitate diverse learning experiences, including practical and online learning.
Course Development : Participate in curriculum development, update course materials, and contribute to new course creation.
Assessment and Evaluation : Develop and moderate student assessments, ensuring reliability and validity.
Team Collaboration : Work with the teaching team, provide academic guidance to students, and liaise with programme coordinators.
To be successful in this role you will have:
Educational Background : Registered Nurse with a current Nursing Council of New Zealand practising certificate and a Bachelor of Nursing (essential); Master of Nursing or equivalent postgraduate qualification (desirable).
Experience : Extensive nursing practice experience and current practice as a Registered Nurse; tertiary teaching experience in nursing is desired.
Skills : Highly developed oral, written, computing, and interpersonal skills, along with proven organizational and planning abilities.
Cultural Competence : Understanding and commitment to cultural safety and creating a culturally sensitive environment.
